Shaping the world…
He Gave His Life · a journey
In the beginning

God made the world good.

There was no distance between God and man because there was no sin in the world! In fact, there was no sin in us! And God walked with people.

"You knitted me together in my mother's womb…I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Psalm 139:13-14

"God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

Genesis 1:27
But something changed

"I'm a good person!"

We may think of ourselves as a "good" person, but the Bible says your sins "have made a separation between you and your God."

Isaiah 59:2

Although God made the world perfect — mankind chose sin.

The problem

The problem is we're all sinners! We are born "dead in our … sins … separated from Christ … having no hope and without God in the world"

Ephesians 2:1, 12

God is not a cosmic Santa Claus who chuckles at the "naughty" things we do. He is the holy judge of the earth. He must punish evil!

We try to fix it ourselves

Many of us try to deal with sin on our own. We change our habits or try to be good because we hope that could take away our guilt, anxiety, and fear.

But God's word says there is nothing we could do to bridge this gap between God and man.

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"

Romans 3:23
But God

He demonstrates his love for us in this…

While we were still sinners Christ died for us!

Romans 5:8
The good news

Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment that we deserved!

3 days later he rose from the dead! This proved God accepted his sacrifice. Now anyone who places their trust in him "shall be saved"

Romans 10:9
A free gift

The Bible says this free gift of God comes through repentance and faith. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing — it is the gift of God"

Ephesians 2:8

Repentance is turning away from your sin. Faith is trusting in Jesus's sacrifice alone for the forgiveness of your sins.

Will you receive this free gift?

Will you trust in Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sins?

A new creation

When God forgives a person, he becomes a "new creation" and God's Holy Spirit lives inside of him!

2 Corinthians 5:17

If God has saved you, your life will never be the same. You won't be sinless, but you will sin less! You won't be perfect, but all your sins have been perfectly forgiven, and now you can walk in fellowship with God.

Not only can he make you new, but he is going to remake the entire world.

One day, Jesus will return and God will create a new heavens and a new earth. Only those who have put their trust in Christ will walk with God in eternal life forever.

Revelation 21:3-4
